Sandy & Paul : Darling

So full of life. So full of love. So full of fun! This couple means oh so much to me. The terms friend, sister, big bro, roomie, family all come to mind when I think of Sandy (or as I call her, Roomie!) and Paul. Sit in a room with these two and you'll feel their love and more importantly, you'll feel like you got an ab workout because whenever they're around, laughter is a given.

On my way to the camera store this morning, a song came on. I can't even remember what the song was, something about lots of love forever and ever. Anyway, it made me think of one of my best friends in the whole wide world and how she is GOING TO BE A MOM! It finally hit me. Like, whoa. And then I turned into ol' water works. My friends are expecting a little girl and this little girl is going to be the luckiest, most loved little girl. They are so amazing as friends, as a husband, as a wife, as all around good people, that it's only obvious that they are going to be fabulous parents. If you don't believe me, check out their blog dedicated to baby girl L. Like for real, aren't you jealous blogs weren't around when you were in the womb?

Roomie and Paul - I'm at a loss for words at how excited I am for your new little girl. I feel honored that you let me be a part of your lives despite the moments when I act like she's MY baby. I love you both and can't wait for the years ahead with little L. xoxo, Tia Roomie/Emo

Of course, By Lauren was on hand to make Sandy look fabulous. She has that "pregnant glow" right?

Katie : Sexy

I struggle with the idea of posting boudoir sessions. Partially because my mom and her coworkers read my blog, and because I'm afraid the groom might randomly check my blog and catch a glimpse of his bride, and lastly, because whenever I do, my site gets blocked from my husbands workplace and he can't brag about my services. Okay, the last one I sort of made up but the rest are for real. I finally came to the conclusion that every single one of my sessions deserves to be featured and so the sexy type posts are here to stay.

Phew! Now that we've got that covered, I can move on to Katie. She's stunning. And she rocked it. Hard. So hard in fact, we were scolded by the sheriff and we had our very own peeping tom. All before 8am. All in a days work I guess.

P.S. Aside from decisions about boudoir, I've been tossing the idea of piercing my nose again. I had it a few years ago but took it out. My last 2 brides have had theirs pierced. Coincidence? I think not!

Krissy & Tim : Engaged

Their story is sweet and simple. Okay, it's not really simple, but it is oh so sweet. Krissy and Tim met a few years ago on a night out on the town. She was tending the bar and he was out with friends and although both were unavailable at the time, they each remembered the instant spark they shared. According to Krissy, the spark was so apparent that the girls she worked with started a "fan club" for Tim and Krissy to get together. A year later, that spark turned into a first date and a relationship finally came to fruition.

Here we are today and Krissy and Tim's spark is still very much evident. We met up last week in Fullerton, where they used to live, where they'd drink wine on a Friday night, where they used to walk their dogs, where they fell in love. Krissy and Tim - I'm so honored to be a part of your wedding this September, it's going to be a blast and I'm dying to meet your 26 member wedding party! If they're anything like you, I'll have a smile plastered on my face all day! xoxo

Meet their boys, Diesel & Shinoda. Special thanks to Krissy's maid of honor, Erika, for helping them warm up to me.

This family portrait makes me happy. I want one just like it. All I need is two pups. Hmmm...

Anna & Ryan : Engaged

Before I begin this post, I have to say that the amount of anxiety I had over this session is worth mentioning. I was blindly going into it. I had never met Anna or Ryan. I had never spoken to either of them. I had no idea what they looked like. You see, they were the winners of my Set your time & Run Contest. Their 3 submissions were creative and stylized, however, they were either out of focus or of their feet. I couldn't wait to finally meet this fun couple and see their fun relationship up close and personal.

I was giddy when this tall, beautiful couple approached me at Union Station last Sunday. They were just as excited as I was and ready to rock the session and as always, my camera brought us all together. Anna and I gabbed about their wedding next summer and all the details that girls get excited over. When she mentioned that they just secured their date at the Villa del Sol d'Oro, well my jaw dropped and I was in love. In love with this couple, in love with their style and duh, in love with their choice of a reception venue.

Anna and Ryan, thank you for reading my blog. Thank you for reading your camera manual and figuring out how to use the self-timer. Thank you for being so cool and incredibly easy to work with. I wish you both nothing but happiness as you take the walk of life together. I can't wait to see all your fabulous wedding details! xoxo

Ryan's sister did Anna's hair and makeup before our session. How lucky to have such talent right at your fingertips!

When I saw this tunnel, I swooned and drooled a little. I just kept snapping as Anna danced around Ryan. While processing these, they reminded me of some of our favorite shots from our wedding day so in an ode to our photographer, I made a triptych. =)

Mari & Victor : Darling

To say I love my job as a photographer is an understatement. I get to be creative, play outside, bask in the beautiful SoCal golden light, blah, blah, blah. The real reason I love my job though, is my clients. I get to meet and hang out with such amazing people and each time it's to document a special slice of a moment in their happy lives. Like Mari, for example. I'm pretty sure the first email she sent to me included the words "wowza" and "fantastical" and zillions of exclamation points. Whenever I see lots of exclamation points, my heart smiles. When she sent in her contract, she sealed the envelope with a rhinestone flower. Um, hello? I LOVE when clients get just as giddy about a session as I do. So yes, I love my clients. And exclamation points. And glitter.

Mari & Victor are expecting a little girl in less than 6 weeks and she wanted to rock a session, feel beautiful and show off her baby bump. They are so full of life and love and over-the-moon-enthusiastic about their new addition that I am kinda jealous they're not my parents. I can't say that I "worked" last Sunday when the 3 of us met up for our session, because really it felt like I was hanging out with two old friends. Mari & Victor, I'm so excited for the both of you and I can't wait for little I's arrival. xoxo
