I don't really have a reason for this contest other than I'm hopelessly in love with love and with my husband, and I want to share it with others. I'm SO excited to announce the Set your timer & Run Contest! Over 5 years ago, way before I ever picked up a professional camera, I was frustrated that no one was ever around to take the kind of pictures I wanted with Steven, so I adopted the self-timer as my new best friend. Since then, we've taken countless pictures of ourselves in all the cool places we've visited, lots of kissing shots, some cheesy shots and loads of outtakes.
During our latest self-timer extravaganza - our honeymoon - I said to Steven, how cool would it be if I asked my readers to try this themselves? and voila, a contest was born! The winners will receive a free session - engaged type or whenever type in Los Angeles. Here are the rules:
1. You may submit up to 3 images per couple.
2. Entries must be of couples only.
3. Images must be taken with a point and shoot camera. Photos taken by someone else will not be considered. You're on the honor system people.
4. Props (umbrellas, hats, balloons, etc.) are welcomed. Have fun with this people, be creative.
5. Entrants don't need to be from the Los Angeles area however, the winning session must take place in Los Angeles.
6. Entries must be sent to picturethis @ themoderntype.com to be considered. Please do not submit via facebook or myspace. They will not be considered.
7. HAVE FUN!
Entries must be received by noon next Monday, June 15 and the winner will be announced, Wednesday, June 17. I'm giving you all a whole week to come up with something fabulous. I cannot wait to see your ideas! xoxo

Oh I love this contest. Hubby hates it when I ask stranger to take our pics. I have a trusty remote now. =) Now I just need time to take these self timed photos of us. Cute idea.

i missed the contest, but the HTB (husband-to-be) and i have been doing a one photo a month challenge where each of us have to take a photo of the other person. this month we'll challenge ourselves to take a self-time shot of us together x 2. thanks for the inspiration!!
