Stefanie : Sexy

Stefanie has the most infectious smile. The second she smiles you feel at ease around this girl. It's like you can't help but feel comfortable. She is completely comfortable in her own skin and I loved every second of it because it made my job a lot easier. She worked my camera and according to her, did a few of her signature poses. Love that she has her own poses... a girl after my own heart.

Lauren of By Lauren rocked it out on hair and makeup yet again. I adore working with this girl because she's so upbeat and cares about every last detail in regards to hair and makeup. Thanks Lauren!

Rachel : Sexy

I had such a fun time photographing Rachel a few days ago. Even though she claimed to be uncomfortable and far from photogenic in front of the camera, she was a complete natural. I mean, look at her, she's hot! This was the first time I've done a boudoir session in a setting other than a bedroom, and let me just say it was quite the experience. Shooting outdoors wearing minimal clothing can be unpredictable because you never know who is going to show up for a hike and this particular day, EVERYONE was out! But Rachel said she trusted me and I think we got some awesome shots.

Hair and makeup was done By Lauren. If you haven't contacted her lately, seriously, check her out! She's working on a blog right now and it should be done by the end of the week so I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Onto the pics. Don't forget you can click on each image to view a larger version.

Christine & Ryan : Married

Christine and Ryan were married this past Saturday and were celebrated in a way I had never seen before. Most weddings are beautiful and celebrate the love shared by the couple exchanging vows. This wedding had that but also displayed the love their families have for each of them as individuals and as a unit. Every time you blinked another family member was paying tribute to Christine and Ryan. There were several songs sang by loved ones, movies made in their honor, and even dances dedicated to them. It was so moving to witness. And if all that mushy love wasn't enough, their entire wedding party and all their guests rocked it out all night long! They were such an upbeat crowd and had me on my toes for most of the day.

Christine and Ryan are both very soft spoken with the warmest hearts. In the limo on the way to get married, Christine was asking me about my upcoming wedding to see how excited I was. Yes, on her wedding day. That's how sincere this girl is. I was touched which is probably why I got teary eyed when she walked down the aisle, I was genuinely excited for her. I wish this couple nothing but happiness and lots of love on their long journey together.

A special thanks to Henry Chen for having me along to second shoot. I had a blast with him!

I had the pleasure of starting out the day hanging out with Ryan and his boys getting ready.

Love the anticipation walking up to the church. There's so much excitement in this moment.

Who wouldn't be excited to walk down the aisle in this stunning church?

Christine and Ryan ended the night with a choreographed dance number with music from a bunch of different genres including "Shut up and let me go" by The Ting Tings. It was fabulous!

Random acts of Ala

I was tagged the other day by a client, Nina. So I guess I'm supposed to write 6 random things about me. Here goes.

1. I adore google reader. If you don't know what google reader is, it's a place that houses all the blogs you love to follow all in one place. One of the first things I do in the morning is check my reader for all the newest content people out there are talking about. My reader consists of photography blogs, design blogs, sports blogs, random rambling blogs, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted.

2. I love hats. I don't care what store I'm in or if they're even appropriate for any of my clothes, I'm constantly buying hats. I think they're so fun and liven up any outfit. Fedoras, beanies, baseball caps, berets, etc. You name it I probably own a couple. Plus if you're having a bad hair day or just don't feel like doing your hair, you can throw on a hat and voila!

3. I'm super competitive. Like, super. Like, since birth. I remember being in first grade and sizing up my classmates to make sure I had THE best kickball team at recess. In first grade! But to this day I'm like that. Even when I try not to care, I still do. It's uncontrollable. Recently, my friends all got together for a "game night" where we drank beer/wine and played SceneIt. We had to have a tiebreaker and the game said whoever grabbed the dice first, won the question. Well, let's just say glass broke and I ended up bleeding...but I GOT THE DICE!

4. My mom calls me my dad's son. I've always been a sports fanatic. Any sport is on, I'll watch it. Extra tickets to a sporting event, I'm there. Plus I know useless facts about teams and players that according to my mom, girls shouldn't know. I was never a tomboy either. I actually love girly things, but I liked those things along with sports.

5. I brush my teeth with hot water. I personally don't think this is random but according to Steven this is listed under the "weird things she does" file. I don't know when exactly I started this, but I despise brushing with cold water. It doesn't feel nice. Do you shower with cold water? No! So why brush your teeth with it?

6. I like dessert more than food. Some would say I tolerate eating dinner because I know there's the possibility of having a yummy creamy chocalatey something or another afterward. Any time of day, any day of the week, if sweets or desserts are involved I want to be a part of it.

The "rules" of the game are as follows:
1. Post the rules on your blog
2. Write 6 random things about yourself
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post

Most of the peeps I know read this blog aren't bloggers themselves so for now, I'll tag:

Jane
Jessebel
Anyone else who wants to reflect on their own randomness!

Off to shoot a wedding! Have a great weekend everyone!

Jennifer & Amber : Whenever

What can I say about a person who wholeheartedly follows their passion? Having the guts to pursue something that means so much to you, knowing very well that you may stumble along the way, is something that I admire in a person. Specifically, Jennifer Hira Stuler. You may remember Jen from our risky shoot a few months ago.

We met up this past Sunday and I was really excited because not only would I be shooting the beautiful Jen but she was bringing along her friend Amber. They are currently in the process of promoting a huge project they're working on and needed some publicity shots. Of course I jumped on board and we turned it into something so much more than just simple headshots.

I was also thrilled to have my future hubby come along on this shoot. If you know us, you know that Steven and I were both art majors in college. He eventually switched his major but he never did lose his creative spirit. We are constantly pushing each other to see things in new ways and working together professionally is something that I've always dreamed of. I cannot wait to see where this road takes us!

Back to Jen and Amber, thank you for trusting us as you carve your niche in the world. Good luck with your project and please remember whenever its released, I want your autographs!

Jen was looking directly into the sun here and was almost blinded, but I loved the shadows so thankfully, she was a trooper.

I adore sunflare. To be honest, if I could have every shot backlit, I so would.

One last note, if you're not familiar with this campus, it's USC, where Jen and Amber attended college. Being a die-hard Bruin, Steven was way hesitant to join me. I'm pretty sure I heard him chanting the 8-clap as we walked by that Troy statue. And just for fun, here's a shot I took of Steven composing and taking a photo...

and here's the shot straight from his camera. Phenomenal.
